Saaame. I love their whole crew. I just follow SmokeyGlow/Nisipisa/Abby but the whole small beauty youtuber world is the best content out there for makeup, reviews, etc. IMHO!

I was wondering if Abby was going to do a video about this or Prime Day in general. She's awesome. Her anti-haul videos always cure me whenever I'm feeling impulsively spendy.

They actually used drugstore makeup for her makeup this whole movie to go for authenticity so it makes sense. And it was the 90s and she was poor

these celebs are trash for working with amazon but then again i also think a boycott is utterly pointless, they have done nothing but lose money through prime throughout the years. that is their main strategy - go low, lose money because they can afford to. if people want amazon to stop being such a destructive ass company they HAVE to be split up. Amazon Web Services basically provides the ability for every website to run smoothly on the goddamn internet and is their utter and complete cash cow. there's no way to stop them until that ceases tbh.

the same goes for facebook, they purchase so much and try to make themselves integral to the way the web functions we have to break them up now.

I feel like it's inappropriate to call a boycott organized by exploited workers "utterly pointless"

I'm sure they are well aware that the odds are stacked against them. But boycotts are just one part of resistance.

While I’m not about to cross even a virtual picket line, boycotts are increasingly difficult in a time of sprawling multi-national corporations.

Okay, boycott Amazon. Don’t buy anything from them on Prime Day. But what else do they own? You have to do your research. Don’t shop at Whole Foods, don’t use Twitch, don’t log on to Goodreads, no Audible, no Shopbop, no Zappos... the list of shit Amazon owns goes on and on.

Boycotts, while symbolic, aren’t able address to the structural problems of capitalism and worker exploitation. Even through collective action, individuals won’t be able to send a message to a giant like Amazon. What would real change really look like?

That being said. The boycott shows solidarity with the worker’s protest.
