During this rather bleak weekend in the box office, the horror 'Crawl' started off new releases with $1 million in Thursday night previews in the U.S./Canada. Right behind it is the Disney/FOX dud 'Stuber' which made $750,000.

'Crawl' is expected to bring in $10 million on a $13M budget this weekend. 'Stuber' should come in around fourth place ('Spider-Man' will top, with 'Toy Story 4' in second this weekend), making around $7 million and $10 million (on a $45 million budget).

In limited release this weekend are 'The Farewell', 'The Art of Self-Defense', 'Summer Night', and the doc 'Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable.'

I guess everyone's waiting on the critically-all-over-the-place 'The Lion King', which already made $13.4 million in China today.
