Oscar-less Amy Adams will go another year without winning an Oscar as Disney is taking her thriller The Woman in the Window out of its award-season friendly October release date and moving to an unannounced 2020 date.

The film will now be retooled and will spend a week on reshoots to help clarify the final act that left test audiences confused. Fox 2000's president (who is leaving the studio shortly) stated that the novel the film is based on is very complex and the film was tested early for that very reason.

Disney still has award-potential films from Fox in Ford vs Ferrari, Jojo Rabbit, and A Hidden Life so not all is lost for the former film studio.
