Set to start filming last year Fast and Furious 9 ended up getting delayed in order to make room for Hobbs & Shaw, a spinoff of the original franchise starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez recorded a video posted to Instagram on their first day thanking fans for sticking with the franchise.
Rodriguez was once a question mark for the ninth movie in this long-running franchise after making comments about the film's lack of representation.
The currently untitled movie hits theaters on May 22, 2020. Just 10 months after the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff.
