Happy 20th Anniversary to the Best Disney Movie - Tarzan

Disney's Tarzan turns a whopping 20-years-old this month, so I tracked down three of its original crew members to learn how it all came together. This story was a real labor of love, folks, so please READ & SHARE!!! https://t.co/V5EKts5L1e

I am not taking suggestions about the title. Isaidwhatisaid.gif

From a slamming soundtrack with THE MAN himself, Phil Collins, Tarzan (Co-directed by Kevin Lima (A Goofy Movie) and Chris Buck (Frozen)) was the last movie of the Disney Reinassance of the 90s.
  • The film was originally slated for direct to home video ( D: ).
  • The initial scene introducing Jane was just going to be her passively walking away from a glaring baboon's mother after shooing the child away, but the final scene was the badass jungle chase we have today.
  • Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park, Space Jam) - the voice of Tantor (the elephant) based the voice off of an LA food critic, Merrill Shindler.
I'm not about to not talk about THE SOUNDTRACK

Mark Mancina (big Phil Collins fan, producer, arranger on The Lion King soundtrack) was not initially brought on for the project until after the initial composer wasn't working.

Notes that Mr. Collins went hard on the soundtrack, which we all knew, and did not phone it in. Fitting, as "You'll Be In My Heart" won both the Globe and the Oscar for Best Original Song.

Would the original crew like to see a live action remake? All three say 'NO!'

Bless them for admiring the concept of the original story but removing the weird "Darkest Africa" shit.
