Whoopi wonders why there has been problems with solving for this. The panel was unanimous that the first responders should be taken care of. Sunny noted Tr/mp wants money for the wall, but hasn’t pushed for extending funds for first responder victims.
UPDATE: Bill was passed in the House Committee for additional 70 years funding. Now it goes to a House floor vote, but is expected to pass, as the legislation has 313 bipartisan co-sponsors. Schumer noted today that we’re reaching a point where more people will have died from 911 related illnesses than on 911 itself. The Senate version, sponsored by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, also has bipartisan support, but it’s still short of a veto-proof majority.

Whoopi mentions the USWNT got trolled for celebrating their 13-0 win, as if men’s sports don’t do the same. The 2015 World Cup final was the most watched soccer game in US history, but women only get paid 38c to the $1 compared to men. Joy rants about the same. Sunny said NIKE says 2019 will be a tipping point and is throwing loads of sponsorship and ad money at it. Me-again goes back to the celebration point, questioning why men get away with everything, whereas women are ‘ice-b/tches’ or ‘hysterical’ and that the women should be allowed to celebrate however they want to. Sunny did a bad job explaining the injuries between soccer and football. Sunny says there are more injuries in soccer (true, but mostly orthopedic) vs serious (football concussions).

NPH has a mustache for a movie that he’ll be filming soon. They talk about Life is a Party book. Lots of healthy food and cocktails. Good food but also a party book and they name drop parties they’ve organized. Cute photos of them with their kids. They talk about the Tonys. NPH says he’s more nervous getting prepped for his performance vs when it actually happens. They’re also co-producers on HBO documentary Wig which is a NY drag story. They’re both fans of Drag Race and that was the prompt for the idea. They show a throwback clip of NPH and Burtka doing a duet on stage. They say they sing all the time, including the kids.

In 1961, he became the first openly gay candidate for public office in the United States. He is also remembered for performing as a drag queen at the Black Cat Bar and as the founder of the Imperial Court System.
