Authorities Release 911 Call From Jussie Smollett's Alleged Attack

Jun 05, 2019 19:08

The audio of the 911 call from Jussie Smollett's alleged attack has been released.

In January 2019, Smollett claims that he was attacked by racists while picking up a Subway sandwich at 2 a.m. After several months of controversy, the crime was determined to be a hoax.

(The call is not triggering or graphic; it's his manager reporting the crime.)

Jussie's manager called Chicago PD about 20 minutes after the actor Smollett claims he was attacked.

The manager does not give Jussie's name, in an attempt to protect the actor's privacy.

He claims that Smollett did not want to report the crime to police. He says, “He was cool, he didn’t want me to call you guys.”

Calls the police back after 16 minutes pass and they have not showed up to help.
