The Spice Girls introduced me to the concept of Girl Power. Looking back, I loved that they were so vocal about woman empowerment - they’ve done so much for the kids of the 90s aside from delivering pop hits!

Same. I know a lot to call it out cause it had its branding/pr aspect but I always appreciated the message. It was simple but really effective. ✌🏼

i really think it lit a spark for a lot of girls in that generation. it didn't go very deep but it didn't need to; we all found our way there in due time.

One of my friend's was scandalized by a Tinder date that didn't sing along to Wannabe when it came up over the bar/cafe sound system. He was just appalled that this woman's first instinct was not to go "zig a zig aaahhhhh"
