Anyway, to sum it up at the end of the week: @JKCorden showed up to a WGA meeting to advocate for a lower pay grade for new writers. I told this story, and he responded, very upset that anyone would think that’s what his intentions were while confirming that’s exactly what he did

James, you showed up to a guild meeting, as an employer, flanked by your executive producer, to advocate for the show's interest to pay writers less. if you want to give talented young writers a shot, you can pay them the Guild minimum that was negotiated in the MBA

The UK saw right through his shit as soon as he was out of a scripted comedy, whenever I see Americans adore him it comforts me to remember how disliked he is here (in general, though of course I'm sure some like him).

THIS!!! He's perfect for Hollywood though, that fake smarmy brown-nosing eagerness to ingratiate himself means he fits right in.
He was always absurdly talented at being a grade A hanger on, and now he has a whole show to do it on!

I've never in my life met a Brit who's liked him since the end of Gavin & Stacey (I hated him even then), and that's how it should be.

That's precisely it, just look at how fast he dropped people along the way once his star started to rise! Admittedly I did hate him less after watching a few eps of A League of Their Own, but I quickly realised it was others who were likeable and he just benefitted from being in that environment.

And exactly the same re Gavin & Stacey, I didn't like him then either and have definitely not come across someone who's a fan since. I remember that flop show he and the guy who played Gavin had, and what a bollocking it got from the public and critics.
