After the now legendary Friday evening + ONTD Post in which Constance Wu said outright that she wanted to move on from the show that made her a semi-household name onto more movies (the show films 9 out of 12 months), ABC Chief Karey Burke says "Oh, no sis, you're staying."
Using that good ole Hollywood doublespeak of not stepping on toes / 'don't let them see you sweat', Burke says at the Disney press upfronts event;
“[...] I did actually know that Constance had another opportunity had Fresh Off The Boat not gone forward she would have pursued. But we never really considered not bring back Fresh off the boat, it was just too strong. I’m going to choose to believe Constance’s most recent communication about the show that she’s happy to return and the cast and crew is happy to have her back.”
