I'm no a fan of the MCU, but I have to hand it to them that they managed to tell a coherent story for a decade, across 20 films. It's an incredible feat that no one else has ever managed before.

well...if you look at it that way!

Avatar was a technical novelty tho, it's not like it sold that many tickets only on the power of its story (although the story helped more than it hindered - precisely because it wasn't original).

yeah i do think that was it, i rember how big of a deal it was

im also amused that there is a billion more people on earth now than when avatar came out - i hate that movie, but for this to be fair i feel like avengers should have a handicap or something :D

"Coherent" until the last film lol a lot of people are confused.

The more I think about End Game, the more I don't understand why they wrote what they did. But you are right. The MCU did something unprecedented.

the story arc had its weaknesses, but if you compare it to franchises like the DCEU, it looks like the pinnacle of storytelling. I can't think of other franchises that pulled off something similar.

Very true. End Game had it's major faults, but the majority of the MCU really was a cohesive universe where arcs bled into other films.
