happy tuesday!

so the guy i'm seeing wants me to come hang out w him tomorrow, and he'll have his son. i love kids but i've never dated anyone w a kid before, and i'm really really nervous. :( if he was 5 or under i think i'd be fine cause they're still babies then but he's almost 9.

a couple of months. honestly, if it were my kid i'd wait at least a year but i've never been in this situation so i don't really know how to proceed.

When you said "guy I'm seeing" it sounded like he wasn't even your boyfriend/you're in the very early stages so it seemed a bit soon lol. I personally wouldn't want to meet someone's kid unless he was my boyfriend and I thought we would be together for awhile.

lol ikr i was like "uhhh ok". we haven't really talked about it except he said he'd like for me to be comfortable around him. and tbh i think i'm so nervous bc i want his kid to like me in case we do become more serious (and i can see that happening). but it's all very Grown Up and Complicated and i feel a little out of my depth.

shew you're right. i just need to suck it up and talk to him. he's really big on communication so i'm sure he'll understand i guess i've just been scared to bring it up. but thank you for talking to me bb. it's made me feel a little better <3

Actually, it's not a bad idea to have his son think you're just friends. I'd see it as a chance to see if you're cut out for hanging around someone else's kid, and go from there.
