Back in January of this year, authorities conducted a welfare check on Wendy Williams at the request of an anonymous tip, according to a police report obtained by People.

Sources tell People with they believe the call came from a fan.

The visit occurred on January 18th at her New Jersey home. The caller claimed Hunter was poisoning Williams.

When the police arrived, her husband Kevin Hunter answered the door and claimed Williams was recovering from an illness. Hunter was initially “hesitant” to let the police inside the house, but he let them in, and they found Wendy in her bed.

Wendy became upset when asked if there was any truth to the poisoning claim but she denied it. According to the police report, Hunter responded “saying “something to the effect of that there had never been any calls to his house regarding domestic violence.”

TMZ first reported the news. Williams’ rep did not return People’s request for comment.
