Katy Perry dresses up as Ursula for American Idol

Back in the day, American Idol 's original judge Simon Cowell used to dress in low cut t-shirts that showed off his chest hair, with a hairstyle that resembled Spongebob's head. However, its current host Katy Perry prefers to put more effort into her attire. At the show's Disney night, she chose to dress as Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Previously this season, she dressed as Snow White.

When asked about her costume, she told Entertainment Tonight "I was thinking about being the Little Mermaid, but then I realized, Ursula is a character who isn't done very much. The Little Mermaid always gets her moment in the sun! And Ursula, actually, really wants Ariel's voice. And that's what I want, is these contestants' voices!
