- Monica Lewinsky was in serious consideration to join the show as a co-host after Matenopoulos got fired but she declined.
- Star Jones got in trouble for promoting products on The View because she wanted them for free for her 2004 wedding. For example, she got $38,000 in wedding invites.
- Donald Trump was furious when Rosie O'Donnell brought up his finances on the show which was the catalyst for their infamous feud. Ironically, Hillary Clinton was the guest that day.
- Trump threatened to sue ABC, The View, and Barbara Walters personally which created a wedge between Rosie and Barbara. It got to a point where there was a lot of bad blood between Rosie and Barbara and they would get into ugly fights backstage.
- Jenny McCarthy talked about how joining The View was a difficult process for her because she thought she was coming on to talk about pop culture but instead the producers and Barbara wanted her to talk about politics. Jenny compared Barbara to the film Mommie Dearest.
- Barbara sold her stake in the show when she retired. The show found its stride again after she left.
- The second time Rosie left the show was because it was adversely affecting her health and she wasn't getting along with Whoopi.
- Of all the co-hosts, Setoodeh sympathizes with McCarthy the most and thinks she should have been given one more year on the show.
