Catalan show, La nit dels Òscars, made a mariachi musical number making fun of the request by the president of Mexico to the government of Spain to apologize for the military, religious and political invasion in Mexico and Latin America, which lasted over 300 years. Said musical number took popular Mexican folk song “cielito lindo”, changing the lyrics to ones full of racial stereotypes mentioning guacamole, beans and making fun of the conquest.

For context, Mexico’s president asked for an apology for the colonialism and abuse indigenous people suffered during this episode of Mexican (and Latin) history

"I have already sent a letter to the King of Spain and another letter to the Pope."
