I'm excited for this, I really like the show, even though it's kinda boring and soap opera-ish a lot of the time (and portrays British aristocracy as much better than they deserve).

Also I'm happy that Thomas actually got a poster. It seemed like all the promotion so far included everyone but him and it made me worry that he was going to be barely in it. This makes me hopeful that he'll have a not too small part.

The episode where Thomas tried to stop being gay via physical harm fucked me up. That was just so sad.

Oh gosh yes, it really was! I think what made it so terrible for me was knowing that this was a legit thing that people did, and even many decades later than the show's timeframe. (and tbh I wouldn't be surprised if some people would still commend it today, gay conversion camps are still a thing, after all.)

I’d expect he’d have a semi decent part as Thomas took over from Carson.

There was an interview with the actor who plays Carson and he said something about how his character comes back from semi-retirement in the movie and I immediately thought, that'd better not come at the cost of Thomas. I like the Carson character and all, but if I had to choose, I'd rather see Thomas doing his thing.

I also thought that the way they made it look in the show, Carson didn't seem like he was going to be able to fulfill a lot of the duties of the butler for much longer with how badly his hands had started shaking.

I really want Thomas to find a happy romantic love. Come on writers! Please deliver on this.

Someone who'd been at a pre-screening posted some mildish spoilers on Reddit and they make me the teeniest bit hopeful for Thomas, though I barely dare to say it out loud tbh.

Yeah this is pretty much all I want. I can't handle more of the tragic gay plight they consistently put him through on the show.
