Jussie Smollett walked into the Leighton Criminal Courthouse. ABC7Chicago says that Smollett will plead not guilty. Smollett's defense team has said there has been a lot of misinformation in the case.
This is at the heels of news that dropped yesterday in regards to how Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx was forced to recuse herself from this case. She was contacted by a former Michelle Obama aide who passed her information to a relative of Smollett who had concerns about the investigation. The communication between Foxx and the relative was known via a public records request by the Chicago Sun Times.
