she and director Marielle Heller had different creative opinions

OP it wasn't Marielle Heller who fired her, it was the original director Nicole Holofcener!

Also I did not know this! I'm glad to get the deets, I remember when it was announced she left due to "creative differences" that people were speculating her husband had an affair and she left the movie to try to work on her marriage. Shows how much we know!

it's funny how people jump to those conclusions toward women in Hollywood. How dare there be creative differences! My boyfriend works in publicity and the amount of BS that gets put in the media is funny. There's so much shit in Hollywood that goes down but there are so many NDAs. nnn, random but he's been emailing Meryl Streep back and forth for some publicity stuff.

great first comment, thanks for clearing that up

i couldnt imagine marielle heller firing anyone let alone julianne moore. i was also confused how julianne kinda just threw her under the bus like that, but then read your comment and realized she wasnt talking about marielle ooop..

Nicole also dropped out meaning she probably got fired by the studio. I mean who the fuck fires Julianne Moore amidst production? She got served.

Not only that but this was fresh off her Oscar win. I really want to hear Holofcener's perspective...

TBH I think it all worked out cause McCarthy was a better fit and Holofcener still became an Oscar nominee through her script AND made an entirely different movie that also came out in 2018 so her career is better than ever.

This is why I don’t ever believe anything blind item sites have to say.
