He knows Scorsese is going hard for next year's Oscar with his Netflix film so instead of you know, making a great movie to compete with it he's just throwing a tantrum.

mte! i think he's going hard this year bc he knows it won't be as easy to campaign against a scorsese movie starring robert de niro as it was to campaign against roma

I hope the Scorsese movie is great. Netflix is gonna pour money into an awards campaign for it. Spielberg is really going hard because Roma won so many major awards

I was already looking forward to The Irishman, and now I want it to be great and win awards just to make Spielberg more bitter.

Netflix has several films that will be up for Oscar consideration next year, not just The Irishman. That's what's bothering him.
