and it's always the white man receiving unearned forgiveness from a representative of the marginalized group that halfway through the movie becomes less of a character and more of a plot device for the white character's redemption arc.

keep. it.

when the fuck am i going to get my series about life in the colonies based on the the black count and letters of the dumas family all fucking ready?!

When will the tables be turned and the marginalized person stabs the white man to death.

this is the movie we deserve!

there are so many stories across the african diaspora worth adapting; stories that uplift and give voice and hope to the disenfranchised and yet the only ones hollywood are willing to make are the ones where the white men leave feeling better about themselves for just existing.

as much as people want to shit on marvel or superhero movies since i was a child it's only been in works of fiction that i get to see a reflection of myself with the level of validation and celebration i and so many other people deserve.

Ngl, Sam taking more of these roles is starting to concern me.

I groaned out loud at that synopsis. What is your damage, Sam Rockwell?

Remember when he was in Moon?

I feel like he needs to go to the moon for awhile until he stops taking racists redeemed roles.
