No one can tell me that The Woman in the Window will be award worthy!

But I won't be surprised to see Little Women, The Report, and The Irishman as contenders when awards season rolls around.

I don't think Rocketman will garner that kind of praise.

I am really curious about The King, but I suspect it's gonna be just so-so. Same with The Goldfinch.

I feel like it should because Elton is super beloved and from trailers, this looks better than BH, but maybe musical bios fatigue will hit lol

Maybe. But I think BH was a total anomaly. For some reason it connected with tons of young people who probably had never heard of Queen before. Never in a million years would I have projected any massive box office success for it.

it definitely looks better, but its being released at the wrong time of year. BH was released in November and still fresh in voters' minds.

Right? I expect TWITW to go more the direction of Girl on the Train than Gone Girl, lol.

I don't even know why they're making The Woman in the Window into a movie. It wasn't even a good book. The only reason I finished it was because I have a problem where if I start a book, I need to finish it. It's an awful habit lol.

Quality aside, it was a best-seller last year and manage to get a lot of buzz, so no surprise that they're making it into a movie. Though I don't know why people think it will be award worthy and can get Amy an Oscar.
