Yep! I love the first two also. The only one I really don’t like is PoA.

It so choppy, IMHO. And I hate the long hair all of the main boys had.

You are bringing back so many memories about the fandom's issues with everyone's hair. Lol!

Agreed that PoA is trash. My faves are Sorceror’s Stone and GoF.

POA really divides people. I love it, my favorite of the series.

I hated PoA so much I didn't see GoF in theaters...
I think it's because PoA is my favorite of the books and I hate the film as an adaptation.

This is where the divide is. People who love the books tend to hate PoA because it took the most creative liberties and was in STARK contrast to the first two films. Is it a badly made movie? Of course not. It’s pretty to look at. But it’s not a HP movie to me. It was a waste. There are so many other movies out there for people who like to look at pretty sets and cinematography and don’t care about a story. See: Lord of the Rings. Lol (also an unpopular opinion I have oops).

omg, if you're going to complain about story, you can make a case against all the films.

That’s not true at all, especially the first two films. Most of them stay fairly true to the books. PoA is not one of them.

Chris Columbus filmed a lot of scenes with Peeves for the first film and cut them out ( ... )

Yeah, to me, most of these examples are not even close to the plot hole PoA left by not explaining what the Marauders were. Especially the Peeves thing and the Carrows, come on now. Those characters are not that important.

And I never said all the movies got every detail of the books right. Of course that’s not the case. I just think PoA’s blatant priortization of style over storytelling - long shots of backdrops, putting the teenagers in jeans for absolutely no reason, not to mention the introduction of, IMO, a terrible Dumbledore - made it the weakest of the films for book fans, and the one that felt least like a Harry Potter story.

It’s really OK for me to feel that way lol. These are subjective thoughts.
