Right? I swear all Hollywood gossip in recent years exists solely to piss me off.

Why would he not take this to his grave?

Is he trying to atone with inner peace?

And he has another shit quality film coming out.

This is seriously unhinged and disturbing. The fact that he is bold enough to casually tell this story to the press just shows how comfortable white people are w their power, they know nothing will happen to them.

way late to this post, but I agree with your point. What he did was certainly fucked up, but how enormous must his ego be for him to think this is a good story to tell during a promotional interview? He really fucking thought that other people might have had the same reaction, and that he was proving himself to be a good man because he "felt ashamed." The audacity.

this is revolting and he should be blacklisted.

i mean for those who don't read it closely, he didn't say he wanted revenge on the perpetrator. he said he just wanted to kill a black guy. he's even like ~i'm ashamed to say it~.

Exactly. If he'd said he wanted revenge on that specific guy, especially if they eventually found out who he was and/or which bar he frequented, I'd be cheering him on. But to want "the next best thing" and be willing to hurt someone innocent for them to "pay" for another's crime? No.

He said he's ashamed, but he didn't turn it into a moral story about how wrong it is to be racist and how ingrained racism is in culture. I'm so confused as to why he shared this. Was he confused and thought he was talking to his therapist?
