Scrap the original post - Variety's reporting that all five of the best original song nominees will perform live at this year's Oscars. They include:
-- Lady Gaga (“Shallow”)
-- Kendrick Lamar and SZA (“All the Stars”)
-- Willie Watson and Tim Blake Nelson (“When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”).
-- Jennifer Hudson (“I’ll Fight”)
-- and a special 'guest' to perform Mary Poppins Returns - “The Place Where Lost Things Go” - this is assumed to be Emily Blunt and maybe Julie Andrews
The 91st Academy Awards will take place live - and apparently be a truncated 3-hour telecast cutting off a fourth of the winners on TV - Sunday, February 24th.
