You cannot expect rich people to stay home on weekends or fly on a crowded plane with a bunch of dirty poors sis. That's why they need us to go vegan, to make up for the damage they do when they're trying to avoid us.

i hate that it's something actually good and makes a difference for the environment but rn it's just being promoted as a fad or a weight loss thing and people completely miss the environment aspect

Exactly. People keep blabbing about the health benefits and I'm sitting here like... no. That's just not true. Meat is not inherently bad for you- it is to animals and to the planet. You will need to replace the nutrients you are not getting from animal products and it's hard work. I hate it when people use non-scientific shit when they do the right thing. It makes it easier for people who do not want to do that right thing to dismiss it altogether.

Don't forget their dear avocado is probably imported from the other side of the world, where it was bought from a small farmer at an indecent price

I agree. Avocado going mainstream in places it should have never been shipped to is the bane of my existence

animal agriculture contributes more to global warming that transport does globally so like go in i guess.

Most numbers confirming that statement are fallacious because they include methane (which most ruminants would naturally produce whether you eat them or not). And although methane, for instance, has more warming potential than CO2, it also dissipates more quickly.
Most of the US emissions actually comes from power plants and transportation but why bother reading the fine lines right?

Well you would have a whole lot less cows producing methane if you weren't forcibly breeding millions and millions every year for food.

Certainly, but the OP original statement would still remain inaccurate
