It's the song Gaga's character sings when she sells out. Also I was so disappointed in it. I love a good fake pop song but this song sucked (also like 5 people wrote it even though 90% of it is just Gaga singing "Why did you do that to me?".

It's sooooo close to being a perfect parody of a hit pop song but it's got some really wonky issues.

Her delivery (especially in the chorus) reminds me of the big voices from the early 90s house scene, which was totally mainstream pop at the time, so it makes the movie feel less current somehow.

this just reminds me of how good the soundtrack for 'beyond the lights' was. babyface wrote most of the songs so they're catchy af.

Ugh don't remind me of Beyond the Lights. When I was done with ASiB I got so pissed off that Gaga is Oscar nominated and Gugu got nothing. I remember talking about how Gugu should have gotten nommed for BtL and people were like "Oh it's not that kind of movie". If people weren't still so racist Sony would have made BtL like they planned to and Gugu would have gotten an Oscar nom.

Probably the same but with higher production values and also a name actress. GBP said the reason they ended up dropping her was because she cast Gugu and this was pre-Belle when no one knew who she was. Sony didn't want to film with a nobody so they dropped it. Also I don't think she ever explicitly said so, but I don't doubt that they tried to pressure GBP into casting a white actress because that literally always happens even when a character is explicitly written as a poc.

Also I know that they had to cut corners because they just didn't have the money for certain scenes, like the end scene was supposed to take place at Glastonbury, Noni performing at an awards show and getting assaulted was supposed to be a Grammy performance and they didn't have the money to fake it so they made it into the BETs or something. And they didn't even have money to fake a police station which is why you only ever see the "police station" from the outside because it's actually the back of a hotel.

I feel like this would be better with Charli XCX, who can make this kind of so-bad-its-good track. Gaga on this is just...girl, you can do better.
