Sources are saying that the new 'Invisible Man' movie will now be helmed by producer Jason Blum (Get Out) and directed by 'Upgrade's Leigh Whannell.

The biggest news? Johnny Depp has been dropped from the project. No word yet on who'll take on the role now. Universal's still committed to make this monster cinematic universe even though the first installment, 'The Mummy', starring Tom Cruise, bombed hardcore. They're revamping the 'cinematic universe'. No word yet on release date etc.

Other actors who were originally attached to this Monster universe included Javier Bardem and Russell Crowe with Cruise and Depp, and they MAY have the option to appear again, but nothing's set in stone.
