It's crazy! I didn't even know a movie was coming out, but if you asked me how I thought it would do, I would have predicted a flop bc who the fuck watches that anymore??

Apparently a lot of people!

i cancelled my amc a-list subscription (because it doesnt include a lot of indie screenings) and have just been watching movies on kanopy. If anyone has a library card kanopy is a free movie streaming service (you can watch 10 movies a month), and it has a lot of A24 movies. I recently watched First Reformed (the ending was disappointing for me), the little hours, the void, Bright (it was horrible as expected), and the florida project which i loved!

Kanopy is such a great resource! I should add an FYI to next week's post, I bet a lot of people have access and don't even know it.

What did you think of The Little Hours? It's weird AF, but I really liked it.

watching 'unbreakable' right now in prep for 'glass' tomorrow and dear god this movie looks dated as FUCK

even the directing and styling of this movie, woof you could tell it was filmed in the 90s (even if it came out in 2000)

Went to see Mary, Queen of Scots for a second time last night; my first viewing was at the premiere, from the front corner of a 2000 seat theater, so I couldn't see for shit. The movie looks a lot better from the center of a theater, if you can believe it, and I liked it just as much this time as I did my first viewing. Saoirse is great in this, as always, and I could more fully appreciate how much they uglied up Margot Robbie - great work from the makeup people, considering she's gorgeous.

Both this movie and On The Basis of Sex were extremely underrated this season. I wouldn't say either one is amazing or perfect, but both are solid films worth checking out, and easily as good as half of the stuff being nominated for awards. And both were directed by women, about women.

I said this in the Roundup earlier, but, I saw Escape Room yesterday and it's honestly decent. I mean, it's ridiculous but it's entertaining. I want a sequel.
