Director Duncan Jones admits parenting sucks

I have 2 kids. 2 1/2 years & 9 months old respectively.
I’ll tell you something I never see anyone admit... they are exhausting, frustrating & life-destabilizing. They are rarely fun. Sure, smiles are great, hugs are lovely, but it’s HARD & not obviously a good choice in life.

Right? That reminds me of how there's still magazines at the grocery store with lists of top 10 worst celebrity mothers amid the mix of things about Kate and Meghan hating each other. Misogyny is so overwhelmingly abundant in our media it's exhausting.

This. I often wonder how many women are diagnosed or self-diagnose with postpartum depression because they admit to feeling this way. I struggled a lot when my son was first born, but I came to realize that thoughts like this are realistic and acceptable, and don’t mean that I hate my child.
