I think people just really love her at the moment. I feel like she gained a whole lot of goodwill after the Manchester bombing (deservingly so because she handled it really impressively) and though she seems to me to be doing a lot to lose all the goodwill she gained, I don't think that's a popular opinion.

Eventually she'll probably do something really dumb, people will turn on her and everyone will act shocked that we let her get away with it for so long. She seems to be getting darker by the day.

they won't after she gets hella overexposed. it happens to every pop girl after probably their most successful era.

I don't get it. Yeah, she has been through some terrible things, but that doesn't really erase her shitty behavior. Yeah, she apologized about the donut incident, but only because she was caught and called out about it. Sure, she probably regrets it. Also, the way she did Mac after their split. Called him toxic, put his addiction issues out there, all while throwing her relationship with Pete in his face, along with everyone else. Now she posts tributes to him every other day, hoping people will forget. I know she probably feels guilt and misses him, but I don't think that is the only reason she is doing it. it seems very manipulative and I would think Mac's family probably isn't happy with it either. Also the people who are like, but she's so young, give her a break. Well, just because she looks very young doesn't excuse it. She is 25 years old ( ... )

Didn't she talk about his addiction issues because his fans sent her threats and attacked her for "abandoning" him?

There were different ways of addressing that issue without throwing Mac's issues out there and saying he was toxic. She did it, because she was in her "Pete is my world and we don't give a fuck what anyone thinks" phase.

Tbh I honestly believe that a shit ton of people really do think she's hispanic. Like, for real. Unless your a stan and follow her and her "she's Italian'-isms most people have no clue. I feel like all it'll take is some major news/ gossip place putting out her childhood era or early Victorious era pics along with pointing out that she's an Italian white girl for some people to really get it.

Before I even knew who Ariana Grande was I saw gifs/pics of her as Cat Valentine on Victorious and I thought she was Hispanic back then. I never watched the show.

^^^ I thought, "wow, Disney is really going 100% in on the Latina actress stuff" because she was popular along with Demi and Selena. I can't be the only one!

I also scared myself thinking Demi might have not been Latina/Hispanic but searching reveals her dad was Mexican. All these fakers have me paranoid.

IMO this is it. whenever I see it get brought up it seems like a lot of people either genuinely think she’s hispanic, or they’re being cautious because it seems like a lot of white people (I say, as a white person) are still genuinely confused for some reason about italians and race

Yup. I thought she was hispanic for the longest time until I saw it on here that she was Italian. I actually watched Sam and Cat along with Victorious back in the day too BUT I never knew that Ariana played Cat until like years later.

When she first got famous, I def. thought that she was Latina before I knew otherwise. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people that aren't as plugged into pop culture as the average user here still think that.
