I just finished Vita Nostra and im pretty sure The Magicians borrowed heavily from it. And it came out before The Magicians.

I need to catch up on this series. I stopped because I was traveling and never started back.

Ooh, did you like it? I’ve never heard of that book before, but now I want to read it.

You should definitely try to catch up! I think it kidna gets better as time goes on. It’s a surprisingly interesting show, imo.

Yeah, the book is crazy. But the description of comparable books is off. Yes, it's basically the same as The Magicians except with a whole different class of magic (yet still, magic attainable only through backbreaking obscure labor for geniuses). But it's a lot darker than The Magicians in a sense when it comes to a magical education. It never leaves the school once it gets there, and it's a lot dingier.

I think I sort of lost interest with the show, and the books to an extent, when they left the school. But I'll catch up one of these days.

I was too, but now that months have gone by I’ve forgotten how I felt about it, so I’m fine with it now, lol.
