In today's episode of "Republicans being rejected by the pop cultural figures they so desperately seek validation from," Trent Reznor spoke briefly at a recent concert in the Dallas area about Definitely An Actual Human Ted Cruz's abortive attempt to get on the guest list for the show:
“Who voted for Ted Cruz? See the lights aren’t on, I can’t see. Is there any way to turn the lights on? I’d like to see. Raise your hand, you guys, nothing to be ashamed of, just checking. […] He might be here tonight, he was bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to fuck off."
Potentially more (or less?) surprising is the revelation that Senator Definitely Not The Zodiac Killer was on the guest list at a show in the past - but was boorish enough to get himself uninvited from future shows:
“We put him on a few years ago, he drank all the beer, and was just a pain in the ass to be around. Can’t hold it against you.”
