this great thread:

Everytime I see Gina Rodriguez’s name in the news, I’m reminded about how that lingerie brand she’s a co-owner of tried to take credit for introducing multiple shades of nude into the lingerie market.

The disrespect for black women runs deep.

The AtlantaBlackStar article should be included. Speaking admirably about Christopher Columbus and colonialism as an ideal superhero film setting is problematic. Calling colonialism the “migration of Spaniards” is white-washing and PURELY anti-Black.

The fuck? That's not just Anti-Black (which is disgusting enough), that's also straight up self hate. I am so sick of Latinos who are like this and constantly kiss the asses of our colonial masters.

(Edited for clarity).

It also erases native identity in South and Central America. Which is racist as hell.

Oof, the Christopher Columbus film idea sounds like the saddest superhero movie ever because we already know how history turns out. ...Unless she means like an alternate history film in the vein of Django Unchained or Inglourious Basterds? idek. It just sounds depressing to me.
