@LeeChildReacher, I’ve got the height, I’ve got the menace, the physical prowess, the fitness levels, the ruthlessness ... you need look no further, Lee

November 14, 2018 - Author Lee Child told BBC Radio Manchester: "I really enjoyed working with Cruise. He's a really, really nice guy. We had a lot of fun. But ultimately the readers are right. The size of Reacher is really, really important and it's a big component of who he is. The idea is that when Reacher walks into a room, you're all a little nervous just for that first minute. And Cruise, for all his talent, didn't have that physicality. So what I've decided to do is - there won't be any more movies with Tom Cruise. We're rebooting and starting over and we're going to try and find the perfect guy."
- Jack Reacher is described in the novels as 6'5" (1.96 m) tall with long arms, long legs, "a six-pack like a cobbled city street, a chest like a suit of NFL armor, biceps like basketballs, subcutaneous fat like a Kleenex tissue", a thicc neck, and, topping it all off, hands the size of dinner plates.
- On the other hand, Tom Cruise is only 5'7" (1.70 m) tall.
