The fact that they're playing Heahmund and Lagertha as this huge love story as if Astrid never existed. Like, Katheryn had an interview where she talked about how since Ragnar, Lagertha has never been attracted to anybody like she has with Heahmund. The idea that you can set up a male and female character, who by all accounts should hate each other (fanatical christian and devout pagan) and in the course of like 2 episodes they can fall in some deep, earth-shattering love with each other and it's totally believable. Meanwhile, the female character Lagertha's been in a relationship with for YEARS and has been by her side from s4b-s5a is not at all a meaningful relationship. This is the definition of heteronormativity.

Ughhhhh whatever.

I can't believe I'm most excited for the Magnus storyline, of all things.

i try not to think about how astrid/lagertha was handled, and to not take it personally since everyone was upfront even before their episodes aired that it wouldn't be done well lmao, but goddamn. there was so much potential. they were wifeys for YEARS. YEARS!!!!!!!!!!

Fuckkkk them for deleting that scene but keeping all of Bjorn x Astrid sex scenes that meant nothing.

Also Re: Magnus... This is going to sound awful but i think if we're ever going to get a gay "Ragnarsson" it would be Magnus since he's canonically not a "true" Ragnarsson.

god, i miss when this show wasn't trash. it still looks so good but the writing is so bad. i'm not invested in any of the characters relationships at all except maybe bjorn and lagertha's. the few i gave a fleeting fuck about died in the 5a finale. i really hope they can give me someone to root for in 5b.

i miss my season 1 babies.

Yeah for a spell, Bjorn was the only appeal for me, but then he stopped being hot. He also turned a blind eye to a bunch of rapes and treated Torvi like shit.

Lagertha's age up is ridiculous.

I kind of wanted a Ragnar/Athelstan relationship to happen with one of his sons but nothing has come close.
