No one owes you their time. I don’t know why this is so hard for people to comprehend.

agreed.

I'm surprised with all those "celebs don't owe you anything" which is the dumbest response regarding a job that is based on popularity / being liked by the public. If no one likes you, they won't watch you and no one will hire you. While I agree that some fans are mega invasive, the moment you decide to engage with them, just play along. Don't be an ass.

Nah, they give you a product and you buy it; that there is them literally giving you what you paid for.

Anything beyond that is not something they have to give.

I disagree. There wouldn't be celebrities if it was all about consumption. Part of your job is to build a base of people that will pay to see/listen to what you do, thus ensuring that you have a successful career. In order to achieve that, you have to give an illusion of proximity to those who like you (thats why celebs do meet & greets, are on social media...) and that includes being decent to fans if they approach you in a non-aggressive way.

People are your fans because they like what you do, as I said, if you give them content which is why they became your fan... they got the only thing they’re entitled to.

Also he was decent to her, he just didn’t want to be filmed especially without prior permission. It’s not like he said “fuck off”, he even said he’d take a pic.

Again, I disagree. It's not just about consumption. If it were, why would people stop watching/listening to the work of those celebs who turn out to be trash? There's a "personal" element in all of this.

Because supporting that thing means supporting them. It’s not about personal involvement with the celeb themselves but not wanting to support the product of someone morally corrupt.

Your logic is super weird. People boycott actual products like phones and food and fucking paper plates based on the companies that manufacture them.

Lol this reminds me of the people who camped out for Ryan Gosling at some award show and threw a hissy fit when he didn't show...because he had a family emergency. Ripped up his picture and everything. Sorry his wife and kids are more important than you, randoms.

“Part of your job is to build a base of people that will pay to see/listen to what you do”

No, their job is to act. Some might choose to go beyond that as a way to give them better job prospects, but it’s not required.

Tbh I feel Tom Cruise kind of altered what people think an actor is obligated to do. He (of his own volition) chose to give his fans above and beyond interaction and now folks think all actors HAVE to cater to their every whim.
