Ava DuVernay is working on a documentary about Prince for Netflix

- The busiest director in Hollywood just announced that since the beginning of the year she has secretly been working on yet another project, a documentary on Prince that she is making in collaboration with Prince's estate
- DuVernay also said that Prince reached out to her before his death hoping to collaborate on a project
- In addition to releasing the fantasy epic A Wrinkle In Time this year, DuVernay is also an executive producer on Queen Sugar, just wrapped up Central Park Five, a miniseries on the Central Park Five for Netflix, and remains involved with ARRAY, her distribution company dedicated to releasing indie films directed by women and men of colour
- Among her upcoming projects are also a miniseries about the Battle of Versailles for HBO and the superhero movie The New Gods for WB
