October 26, 2018 During this dull and bleak weekend before Halloween (movie-wise), Hollywood thought it'd be a great idea to release a bunch of stinkers (or just let 'Halloween' the movie kill it again in the box office).
'Hunter Killer', another answer to "Why the fuck is Gerard Butler still employed??", was just released this weekend and brought in $420,000 on Thursday (in 2200 screens), and is expected to make a stellar $5M-$9M. Also releasing this weekend is 'Johnny English Strikes Again' but was only out in 544 in North America so no Thursday numbers revealed.
These new garbage ass movies matter not, as 'Halloween' is expected to make $30-$40M this weekend. 'Venom' and 'A Star is Born' will continue their success and are expected to come in the 2-3 box office spots this weekend, just as they did last weekend. Variety didn't even bother mentioning 'First Man' so put that down as a certified bomb.
Limited releases out this weekend include 'Suspiria', 'Indivisible', 'London Fields', 'Burning', and 'Monrovia, Indiana'.
