I'm a terrible gay, I didn't know it was coming out tbh. Let me go check it out tho!

Ok update: Swede ontders do all the popstars there release smooth chill bops? Robyn/Lykke/Tove.. Zara is the only one releasing hard bops - eh maybe not this recent song of hers. This isn't a complaint btw, I'm just very into it.

I think there's def. a big genre of "smooth chill bops" in Sweden or even in Scandinavia in general that are big right now? I might also put First Aid Kit there, even tough they might be more country? There are, of course other genres as well, but the biggest stars internationally atm seems to be singers like Lykke, Tove etc.

If you like them, I would also recommend Linnea Henriksson:

Popcast hosts talk about it a lot and call it Spotify-core pop cause it’s very popular on playlists. I personally think that influence came from the lowkey indie pop like The xx and later, like, Lorde’s Pure Heroine (maybe I’m wrong)
However I think in this case Robyn is referencing classic club (as in her Mr Tophar collaborative EP) music tropes that are usually very repetitive, long and not as in your face as her Body Talk era. A 9 track album with 4-6 minute long tracks is the opposite of what’s needed for streaming services gambling though (as in three hour long Rae Sremmurd album)

It's fucking everythiiiiiing! "Between the Lines" is my fave so far but then "Because It's In The Music" is so welcoming like it's like a hug in a song form. Ugh and then I hear Janet all over "Beach2k20"
