i genuinely dont understand why anyone thinks this movie isn't going to be making fun of and criticizing both cheney and bush but okay

every single time anything to do with this movie is posted (including this post where the OP asked "are you ready for more bush-era glorification, ontd?") people talk about how it's so gross and they won't be seeing a movie that's here to celebrate cheney and his accomplishments.

yeah, im never sure how people think because a movie or show is made about someone its automatically about that. I mean, its actually possible for art/media to be critical lol

because i don't expect a biting, sharp takedown of this war criminal especially from hollywood. the big short is like that, too. too much gimmick, less critique.

yeah there's no way this is going to be pro-cheney. it'll prob be more like "wolf of wallstreet", I'd imagine - making fun of him and showing he's a shitty human but also slightly glamorizing his behavior as awful to the point of being ~kind of cool

i'll wait and see for this to surprise me, but hollywood's track record isn't very good.

Did you see W, the movie? It's been about 10 years since I did but no one would call that a sympathetic portrayal
