Literally? no, the issue isn't lack of water it's lead pipes, if you live in the US you're pretty much guaranteed to be drinking out of lead pipes, FYI.
I just don't get why you're picking this apart. She isn't the only one trying to highlight the flint water crisis and why not do so on a national stage? Was she not leveraging her privilege in a proper way??
Because she's not doing anything for Flint, It comes off to me as her exploiting the crisis to make a dramatic statement to get attention and also throwing her state under the bus. Like wow, she did such a great job at helping! Real change!
I don't know - she's a resident of michigan & would naturally be affected by this. While I get wanting to be wary that take feels a bit like projection
lol no, 95% of Michiganders aren't affected by what's happening in Flint like at all, you honestly think everyone in MI is drinking bottled water? I'd be willing to bet she's some rich daughter from Bloomfield Hills.
#MissMichigan just said: “From a state with 84% of the US fresh water but none for its residents to drink...”
Clearly this is not your mother’s Miss America pageant. #MissAmerica2019 pic.twitter.com/VsYvFK2GQM
