This this this. No ONE takes this seriously. It's really fucked up.
Not to mention it could kill you.

I know a 50-ish year old lady that mixed wine with sedatives and went into a hot tub. She died quickly.

If your meds say don't mix with alcohol-- don't. :(

This type of combo can also damage your liver real bad. It's just not worth it.

Another pal I had ended up in the hospital/emergency room because she took Ibuprofen too long/too much for a toothache. It was either her liver or kidneys that got fucked up. :(

I took it for my teeth on a 8hr rotation, eventually mixed with a high amount of caffeine and boy was I out of my mind. The next time I took it, I had a huge allergic reaction. This shit's dangerous.

I hate to sound like an old worry-head, but mixing that shit really concerns me.

My good friend went on anti-dep and she says when she drinks- she never gets drunk because of the pills. Ok... so does that mean she's drinking 4 big glasses of wine?! I know my friend is a borderline alcoholic, so the "I won't drink of my meds" didn't last... :( But she does at least a bottle of wine a day. :(

From what I understand some meds make your alcohol "kick in" that much stronger. Like you get wasted faster with less booze? But then that would contradict what my friend ^^ told me. Who knows. I just know it's a slippery slope. :(

I’m on Wellbutrin and I can’t have more than two drinks or I get super drunk now. I only go out maybe once a month for dinner with friends and I always stop after 2 drinks now.

You should just ask / call your psychiatrist. I've was put on Wellbutrin in college and they straight up told me to not overdo it and that a drink or two was fine. I wasn't a big drinker anyways so I don't really remember. Just tell them you want to drink / know how it interacts with alcohol.

I think that is what my friend is on, but she says she can drink and drink and drink some more and never gets drunk. Weird. But that is why this shit should NOT be played with. Everyone is diff. Someone can say "oh I drink on my meds" and it can kill someone else. Scary.

Yeah. I’ve been on it for 5 years and definitely waited a while before I even tried. I would never tell anyone it’s ok to drink on anything because different people react different ways to all medication.

When I was still on a cocktail of meds and trying to get my shit together, people would always get SOOO fucking condescending about me not being able to drink lmao. I'd be perfectly polite about it "Oh, thanks, but I'm not supposed to drink with my meds, unfortunately." and people would still always respond with the most dramatic eye rolling and "God, I drink with my meds all the time, I'm doing it right now, live a little!" like thanks, living a little longer is exactly what I'm trying to do, actually lmao

Nope, nothing funny about them being condescending assholes to you. :(

I get that mostly it fucks you up faster (mixing) but there are blood pressure issues, liver/kidney issues, breathing issues, heart issues-- it's not simple. :( It's not "living a little" like "getting more fucked up"--- you could die. :(

I'm sorry, hon. :( Keep doing you! xoxo
