Watson looks so great in these suits.......but I MISS her cute dresses and skirts. I get the change but I MISS THEM DEARLY

Maybe next season if she ends up adopting she'll change up her wardrobe again. Dresses and skirts are more practical for a new mom than than 3-piece suits I assume.

I'm conflicted about the change in wardrobe tbh
I love women in suits, who doesn't?
But there was an article about how her moving towards more masculine clothing (traditionally masculine should we say) showed her progression as a character who's stepping out of Sherlock's shadow

And I didn't like that they implied 'independant Watson = tradionally masculine wardrobe'.
Because by the way they were saying it, it was basically 'you can't be a boss lady and wear dresses'. And why? Why would she have to dress more 'masculine' to show her proression. She was as much of a badass in skirts

I've always seen the wardrobe change as being more about how Joan herself changed after her old boyfriend got poisoned. Like she just purposefully retreated and put that side of herself away. Toss in the whole thing with Shinwell, and it has just progressed to where she's just fully committed to this lifestyle and the suits are a bit of uniform and shield for her. As much as I absolutely HATE the baby plot line, I do think the psychiatrist notes were ultimately reminding Joan that she was once more than this.
