lmao if sex is the only way for you to show connection between characters, you're a shitty writer.

Are nude scenes or sex scenes every really necessary? I can't think of an example where they are.

not really. i mean plenty of tv shows will just show them making out a bit, and then cut, but you understand where they're going with it. same with a lot of pg-13 books where they just cut to a new chapter like 'the next day...' or something.

thats why i never got with 13 reasons why, when people were like 'its important to show rape on screen because it does happen!' because there are movies that have managed to show that before (like the lovely bones), without showing the actual act.

nude scenes, no, never. there are some sex scenes i think work - but i don't think they need to be gratuitous
