Wow, this thread was a lot. I thought my comment was pretty clear, but since it was not, let me clarify. As jobeesebastian mentioned, I think Roseanne is a racist and she was very well aware that Jarrett is black when she made the ape joke. But she tried to not take responsibility for a racist dig, by claiming that she did not know that Jarrett is black, because she was lighter skinned. Obviously, she's lying outta her ass. I've seen a lot of ONTD members (pretty sure they are white) trying to diminish the impact of racism on light skinned POC, by claiming they are white passing (which often they are not), hence the comparison.
