Indie Film Release Guide: June 1st [An ONTD Original]

This week is pretty weak for big studio releases - Johnny Knoxville's Action Point is the only new thing in theaters. So if you’re all caught up on Solo and Deadpool 2, here are most of the films from smaller studios being released today.

Note that some of the movies listed are in their first week or two of limited release in the USA, so it may take them a few more weeks (or months) to show up in your local arthouse theater or on VOD. Plot: Set in the near-future, technology controls nearly all aspects of life. But when Grey, a self-identified technophobe, has his world turned upside down, his only hope for revenge is an experimental computer chip implant called Stem.
What you should know: That’s not Tom Hardy, it’s the other Tom Hardy. The one who was in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

What you should know: Based on the play written by Daniel Pearle.

What you should know: ONTD’s fave potato Miles Teller was originally attached to this project, but he dropped out.

Plot: A homeless, smartmouthed teenage prostitute travels from New York City to Miami, desperately seeking a better life with his boyfriend.
What you should know: The director is best known as a YouTuber, so do with that info what you will.

Nossa Chape

Genre: Documentary
Storyline: Tracks the rebuilding of the Chapecoense football club in Brazil after an airplane carrying the team crashes on Nov. 28, 2016, and left all but three of the players dead.
What you should know: The film premiered at SXSW and was well received.

Veere Di Wedding
