yes. visually, i see it. but tbh i don't know much about either of them (aside from vivien leigh's iconic performances, i mean. idk about her life) and i won't be watching this so i don't really have a horse in the race. but, again, visually i see it.

Vivien Leigh was not actually considered a great beauty in her time and ppl often cited her "weird" facial expressions, which reminds me of what (stupid) people say about Dormer. But both were and are talented af.

eh. i guess a miniseries is better than nothing since that biopic never panned out.

Idk. I feel weirdly protective of Vivien Leigh, so my expectations are probably impossible. No one is that charismatic. We'll see.

I'm the same. At this point I'm just "how dare you even try?" XD

Poor Vivien. Mental illnesses are a bitch, and were even harder when they were understood even less then than they are today, and the treatments were way worse. I worry about how this project will handle her mental illness issues.

IA. I'm ambivalent about the casting, but I'm more concerned that they don't sensationalize her illness. I do think the miniseries format is a good thing and allows the possibility to explore it with more nuance.

Yeah, I'm worried about that too.

Me too - hopefully it’ll be empathetic, but at worst it’s a bad method for awards glory.
