Didn't Moffat deny anything mental in Sherlock but just called him super intelligent and not a people's person or some nonsense?

Can't think of any poc or female autist character.

Yeah. Just like having autism doesn't mean you're an awkward, snarky savant, being an awkward, snarky savant doesn't mean you have autism.

The show labels BBC!Sherlock as a "high-functioning sociopath" which A) isn't a real thing and B) just an excuse to excuse him for being a dick to everyone. Also Moffat and company have made a lot of shitty comments about autistic fans relating to Sherlock.

sherlock labels himself as a "high functioning sociopath" in the first episode when he gets defensive about people interrogating his flat for drugs due to his addiction. the point is that it's completely untrue - it's just something that sherlock wants to believe about himself so he doesn't have to be open and vulnerable with anyone in his life. he learns to become more human because he is.

it's literally the point of the show lol.

The Big Bang Theory people have said the same about Sheldon, they’ve always refused to label him as autistic in order to avoid scrutiny over how accurate the portrayal is
