I think the idea is that when the kids are with the "poorer" parent they have the same standard of living, because what kid would ever want to go hang out with the "poorer" parent if they get alot of stuff from the rich one.
Eh the idea is still that the kid has a similar standard of living at both homes. And I think its pretty standard that if income goes up, so does child support. Same if it goes down.
In my own anecdotal experience, I have friends who go through this with their exes and the kid tends to want to stay where "there stuff is".
All things considered, Kfed doesnt seem THAT awful. Sure he's a financial dead beat but britney knew that when she got with him. You dont see him running to the tabloids with "insider gossip" or anything. And i'm sure it hasnt been easy when you co-parent with someone who isnt in the mental state to be part of the conversation. *shrug*
I have a friend who grew up like this. He literally lived in a trailer with his mom during the school year and took a Greyhound bus to Texas to visit his dad, live in a mansion, and drive a Porshe all summer.
